These prostheses are also called &#8220;unicondylar prostheses&#8221; in medical terminology. Half-knee prostheses are generally preferred in cases of damage or calcification in the inner (medial) or outer (lateral) area of the knee.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This method involves replacing only the damaged area instead of a complete total knee replacement (TDP). This helps to reduce pain and loss of function while maintaining healthy joint tissue. Half knee replacements allow patients to experience a faster recovery and an earlier return to physical activities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advantages of half-knee prostheses include fewer tissue incisions, less bone loss, less blood loss and a faster healing process. However, this method may only be suitable for certain patients and should be carefully evaluated by an orthopedist.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unicondylar prostheses can be an effective option for patients to relieve pain and restore mobility from damage to the knee joint.
